Last Friday, my daughter Adeline watched Pinnochio with her babysitter. As some of you may recall, in the movie they sing a song about wishing upon a star and getting whatever you want.
Adeline then informed her babysitter that this isn't how things worked. Adeline said, "Actually you have to pray to God about stuff and sometimes God says 'no'. God doesn't just give us things that we want. He gives us what we need. You can't just ask God to make you a mermaid. He won't do that."
We'll can't argue that.
